ICT Director
As the ICT Director, Mr. C. Gremu is responsible for providing leadership to the College of Medicine for information technology services in support of administrative, student life, research and academic concerns. He is also responsible for developing and implementing the ICT Strategy of the College and implementing ICT Policy of the University of Malawi. His areas of interest includes open source technologies such is Linux, Python, PHP etc.
Arthur Mtegha
Senior Systems Administrator
Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department.
Humphrey Kumwembe
Systems Developer
Responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, deploying and supporting in-house computer applications. Works closely with the Learning technology officer in coming up with and maintaining System Development Processes and Standards used by the College’s Development Team.
He is the link person between ICT and College’s Central Registry Department in managing students’ information/data through the use of The Student Academic Record Information System (SARIS).
Joel Kumwenda
Learning Technology Development Officer
Works closely with academics and IT professionals to support the Course Management System (CMS). Lead professional in all activities related to the design, development, implementation of the CMS. Promotes innovation in the use of e-learning to benefit learning, teaching and research throughout the curriculum. Conducts trainings to college community in form of workshops, seminars and classes to develop skills both educational and technical skills in information technology. Works with System developer in implementing electronic systems needs for the College.
Chisomo Kaundama
Network Administrator
Chisomo is responsible for the designing, developing, configuration, installation, administration and maintenance of integrated network architecture (voice, data, and video networks). Plans future enhancements for computer networks. Develops standards for computer and network systems, to include standards for wiring, equipment, system security, and routing protocol. Provides technical expertise for staff and participates directly in the daily operations required to manage a network, utilizing equipment such as switches, routers, hubs, bridges, and transport media (e.g., wire, fiber optic, cable, wireless). Monitor network to ensure its availability and provide high level user support.

Network and Hardware Technician
As Network and hardware Technician he resiponsible for Designng and installing well-functioning computer networks, connections and cabling, Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network , Inspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor or major problems/bugs Test and configure software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices Evaluate network performance and find ways of improvement Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their own work Do regular data backups to protect the organization’s information Provide technical direction to co-workers on computer and network usage and offer comprehensive advice and instructions
Mphatso Gong’a
ICT Support Officer
He is the mechanic, the ‘go-to’ guys and the saviors of the I.T. world. Responsible for implementing IT standards and policies, and provide technology support and solutions to meet the needs of the all departments. Also liaises with systems development staff or software suppliers on the development of system enhancements to overcome known problems or further fulfill user requirements. Does install and maintain network, computers, printers and other peripheral hardware.
