Welcome to ICT Department

The ICT Department is committed to ensuring the provision of efficient and effective computer resources and services for staff and students to use in fulfilling their functions in administration, teaching and research learning objectives at the College of Medicine. Each student has access to general software and facilities and some departments have specialised equipment to meet their specific needs. Amongst ICT’s responsibilities are:

The maintenance of the infrastructure for networking and administrative functions
Data security
Maintenance and upgrades to mail servers and computing labs
Maintaining the College website
Research into various infrastructure and software developments to enhance the College’s academic and administrative functions.
Purchasing (via public tender) of equipment and distribution of the equipment according to priorities and requests from departments and teaching area.
Training and development of staff and students computing capabilities

The ICT Department has staff who supports the College of Medicine community in solving general computer problems. Where possible, they will also assist in the research of applicable software for the various departments when these are outside the broad scope of the IT general software; however in these cases this is the responsibility of the Department and Head of Department in particular.
