The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program is designed to meet the needs of professionals working in public health, and is a widely recognised postgraduate qualification in the sphere of public health practice. It is a two-year course with teaching focused on how to improve the health of populations and communities and particular groups within them through the prevention of disease, the promotion of health and the provision and evaluation of appropriate treatment and care.

 The programme is modular in design, which allows students to gain credits over a period of time towards their MPH degree.  Each module lasts between 1 and 4 weeks and allows for an intensive programme of teaching as well as practical application of material into everyday service work between modules. The course aims to equip students with skills to analyse public health problems and design, implement, and evaluate actions to improve them. The emphasis of this course is on:

• Analysis methods
• Implementing practical effective interventions
• Health management
• Evaluation of health services.
