The Sports Complex

The College of Medicine Sports Complex is a source of great pride for the College. Funded by the Government of Norway, and opened by His Excellency the late President, Professor Bingu wa Mutharika in 2007, the Sports Complex has played an important role in connecting the College with the community.

The Sports Complex is used for National and International competitions. Its aim is to be a place for meeting other national teams in competitions, both from the SADC region and beyond.

Sports is essential in helping students  having a balanced life, with opportunities for recreation as well as study.

As a High Performance Centre, the Sports Complex has two functions that are complementary. It naturally encourages excellence in sports, offering a wide range from swimming, track and field, squash, tennis, netball, volleyball, football and a gymnasium as well as being accessible and open to the community. Membership may be obtained either as an individual, family or institution. This link with the community is of critical importance. It emphasises that the College of Medicine Sports Complex is a national asset that belongs to everyone.

Students Membership

Any College of Medicine Student is an automatic member of the Sports Complex.
