CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION INTO THE MASTER OF SCIENCE (MSc) PROGRAMME IN SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH & RIGHTS RESEARCH

The College of Medicine (CoM, established in 1991, as a constituent college of the University of Malawi and with a mission “to be an academic centre of excellence in the training of doctors and other health professionals in clinical service and medical research, responsive to the health needs of Malawi and its neighbours within the Southern African region” is inviting applications into its newest postgraduate programme. The Department of Public Health (DoPH), in the School of Public Health and Family Medicine has gotten Senate approval to initiate a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Research (SRHRR). The CoM is now inviting applications from eligible students to apply for admission into this programme.
Admission Criteria
A candidate shall be eligible for admission into the Master of Science degree in SRHRR if they have any of the following:
a) A Bachelor of Science degree or any other relevant Bachelor’s degrees from a reputable accredited institution (e.g. medicine, nursing, biology, mathematics, statistics, psychology, demography, sociology, health management, public health and environmental health).
or
b) A Postgraduate Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Research
or
c) Postgraduate Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Research.
Applications for this postgraduate programme should include:

  1. A completed postgraduate application form. The forms are available at www.medcol.mw/application-forms/or CoM Central Registry
  2. Sealed academic transcripts
  3. Authenticated copies of academic certificates (by a lawyer, magistrate, or registrar of the awarding institution)
  4. Authenticated copies of professional registration certificates where applicable
  5. Letter of release from employers (if employed)
  6. Reference letters (one academic and one professional)
    A non-refundable application fee of MK10000.00 for Malawians and $30.00 for non-Malawians.
