Scholarship Opportunity: Research Support Centre has received HNTI scholarship opportunities for 8 individuals, the scholarship covers 75% of the course fee, in order to qualify for the scholarship you must be a post graduate student at COM or from COM affiliates. 

 

The course is offered by College of Medicine’s Research Support Centre (RSC), a centre with renowned history of delivering high quality training courses and services in clinical trial monitoring, data Management and communication. RSC’s courses are delivered by highly qualified facilitators, guaranteeing the trainees of invaluable training standards. We are pleased to inform you that we are conducting a basic course in qualitative research methods. This course aims at equipping students, researchers and research assistants in Basic qualitative research methods.

Course fee: $ 400 per participant. Course fees cover course material, lunch and refreshments.

Who should apply: Researchers, Students, data analysts, study drivers and other research support staff

About the course: This course will cover 12 modules and an assessment. Following aspects will be covered:

 

  • Introduction to critical social science theory
  • Developing qualitative research tools
  • Social science methods
  • Qualitative data collection
  • Qualitative data analysis
  • Coding frameworks
  • Principles of basic NVIVO with coding structures
  • Introduction to biomedics research methods
  • Approaches to analysis of basic biomedical data
  • Quality assurance in basic biomedical data
  • Scientific writing and presentation
  • Ethics of healthy research
  • Principles of accounting, budgeting and grant management

Course will be delivered through lecturers, case cracking, Sharing of experiences and many more.
